Corinne Joachim

Ceramic and sculpture.

From what she has done she does not deny anything. She goes ahead… From live model transformed by bronze to the evocation of forms, we meet the humanity which pursues her, as the thread of her claywork.

« Ode to the joy of the body in its innocent nudity, its youth or radiant maturity, a hymn to the happy body, mainly feminine, with its smooth volumes, subtle curves, an invitation to caress it with the eye, the hand and to slide on that bronze or delicately terra cotta-colored skin, on these vibrant areas of light or half-lighted hollows.

To give free rein to imagination, the artist combines the material earth with colors, to dress each item in an « enamel suit » which fits his shape. Her research sometimes leads her to a personal graphic design made of lines, curves and hieroglyphes, all of these given as a pretext of the expression of a mysterious and poetic language.

« In any material, Corinne expresses an irresistible appetite for life and makes each attitude mysteriously convincing, enlightened ».

Quotations from Daniel Abel (poet and visual artist).
